Leftovers are great for panini recipes. We already discussed the one egg omlet as an ingredient for a breakfast panini and apples in a panini as a snack. Today we will be using left over french toast in a panini. When I make french toast, I usually make either too much or not enough. Well, instead of worrying about it, just make too much and keep the leftovers for panini!

Here’s what you need:

leftover french toast

thinly sliced apples

maple syrup

butter or margarine

Yup, that simple. Preheat your panini grill and thinly slice your apples if you haven’t already. Layer the apples between 2 slices of french toast. butter one side and place that side down on your grill. Then butter the top side and clost the grill.

In 3 to 5 minutes the french toast will be hot and crispy and the apple should still be cool and crisp. Serve it up with a side of maple syrup. Yum!

Of course you’re not limited to french toast and apples. Get creative, try bananas between pancakes or strawberries between waffles. The possibilities are limitless.

It’s the morning, you want some nice quick breakfast panini recipes that you can throw together quick. I got you covered. First I am going to mention that there are certain things that you might want to make in bulk and keep in your fridge of freezer. That is another post so I won’t give you a list right now but I will say, if you want a quick breakfast panini it goes a lot easier if you have a few one egg omlettes stuffed in storage. Bacon is another nice addition, not just for breakfast either. That being said, in this recipe I will talk you through making the eggs and bacon too.

First thing’s first. What do you need?

one egg

3 strips of bacon

cheese (a good melting one)

your favorite bread (sourdough works great for this one)

Everyone ready? Here we go!

in a small (8 inch or so) pan, spray a little grease and put over medium heat. Let the Pan warm up. You can test it by sprinkling water on it. While the pan is warming, crack the egg into a bowl and add a splash of water. Stir the egg with a fork or wisk until the yolk and white are mixed. Pour it in the pan and let it cook for a few minutes. It should have rounded to the pan. When the egg is firmed up, fold it in half and take it off the pan. It can cool while you make the bacon.

Next, plug in your panini grill. While it heats, start cooking your 3 strips of bacon in the pan. Cook them how you like them. By the time the bacon is cooked, the grill should be heated up.

Now, take 2 slices of bread, put your egg on the bottom slice, then add bacon and on top put your cheese, I keep shredded cheddar because it melts well and evenly. cover with your top slice and put on your Panini press.

3-8 minutes later you have a nice breakfast panini.

If you premake and store your egg and bacon, it significantly shortens your prep time.

Here’s one of my favorite simple panini recipes. I figured I’d keep with the pepperoni theme. Great for kids, football fans and couch potatos!

Here’s what you need:

Pepperoni
mozzarella
flower tortillas
spaghetti sauce

This works best if you heat your tortillas before you prep the sandwiches. Put each one in the heated panini grill for about 30 seconds. Next, lay out your tortilla and put shredded mozzarella on one half of it. Then put on your pepperoni. I overlap the pepperonis on the mozzarella, no use skimping like the pizza places do. To make it extra special, lay the pepperoni over the edge of the tortilla so it gets that crispy pepperoni edge you get on pizza. You can add other pizza toppings if you want, I just like pepperoni. Finally, fold the tortilla in half. This is much easier when you have preheated the tortillas. That’s why we did it.

Now, put them on your grill as many as will fit without touching. Cook for 3-10 minutes until grill lines start to brown, the cheese is gooey and the edges of the pepperoni sticking out get crispy. While they are cooking microwave the sauce to warm it.

When they are done, cut them into slices for dipping in the sauce.

These make great party snacks, kids treats, couch potato munchies or easy lunches. You can set out the toppings and have the kids make their own pizzas this way too. Great family fun!

A great bread for Panini Recipes is Ciabatta Bread it can be bought at any store and is used to make extra good paninis. Ciabatta is the Italian word for slipper. It is given because the bread is flat and looks somewhat like a slipper. The bread is long and thin and fairly flat, which is why it is used many times as sandwich bread. Hence is excellent use in panini recipes. The following video shows how ciabatta bread is made. There are many ciabatta recipes and many ingredients which can be added to make the bread.

As you will notice from the video, the bread is soft with a lot of air bubbles from the yeast rising. The crust is very crunchy and thin

I have read that it can be hard to make, but am not sure. All I know is the Ciabatta Bread dough is quite runny and be careful not to kill the yeast or you will be using them in your rock garden outside.

After you are done making your bread you can try making something simple. Try another one of the Panini recipes from this blog.

Hey there from panini recipes.

One of the great ingredients to put on anything that you you cook is pepperoni.

Pepperoni

Pepperoni is what kids love. I can’t think of anybody that doesn’t love pepperoni. Think about the pepperoni pizza, an icon of pizza. Pepperoni smell good, tastes good and is easy to work with.

From Wiki:

“Pepperoni is a spicy Italian-American variety of salami usually made from pork and beef,[1] It is a descendant of the spicy salamis of Southern Italy”

“Pepperoni is a corruption of peperoni, the Italian plural of peperone. While in Italian peperoni refers to bell peppers, in Italian-American cuisine the word “pepperoni” evolved to indicate a kind of spicy sausage

Putting together a pepperoni panini is an amazing quick, simple and easy plan. The only issues that you may have is not having all the ingredients on hand. All the ingredients are easy to obtain. I always keep pepperoni in my fridge just for emergency situation.

Here is the recipe:

ciabatta bread or slices of bread, mozzerella cheeze, butter (optional) and of course pepperoni.

Slice the loaf of ciabatta bread in half and butter both pieces, put a handful of cheese onto one slice and and then put a bunch of slices of pepperoni. Put the other slice of bread onto the sandwich and place on a preheated panini grill and heat until cooked. Usually about ten minutes.

There are so many panini recipes with every possible ingredient in it. So get experimental and see what you can make.

Good luck from panini recipes.
